Do you use a ring light while you do makeup?

Yes, I always bring a ring light with me to use during the makeup application as I never know what the lighting could be light at some locations.

What experience do you have?

I have been a professional freelance makeup artist for over 8 years and during that time I have completed 2000+ makeovers. In 2017 I completed a full-time diploma in Hair and Makeup for fashion, beauty, Spfx and Film & Tv. This was done at The Makeup School in Ponsonby. I also worked as a makeup artist at Mecca for 3 years which gave me vast product knowledge and allowed me to build my kit with all the products I love most. I am experienced in makeup for all ages and skin types. My youngest client was 4 and my eldest was 93. I specialise in beauty makeup and do mostly makeup for special events such as weddings, balls and birthdays. However, I do have experience in Tv & film, fashion aswell as commercial work which I also enjoy.

Do you supply lashes?

Yes lashes are included with the makeup. I have individuals, half lashes and strip lashes.

What equipment do I need at my location?

When I travel for clients, I need to set up on a medium-sized table at a normal height. I also need a PowerPoint for any hair tools that need to be used. I always bring a bar stool with me in case my clients don’t have one.

How should I prepare my face for makeup?

Exfoliating your skin a few days before will get rid of any dead skin and create a nice smooth base for makeup application. I always prefer clients to have clean bare skin with no makeup on when they arrive. You can apply your usual skincare serums & moisturisers but I would avoid any facial oils as this can sometimes cause makeup products to seperate. I will also have skincare that I can apply if you would prefer.

How should I prepare my hair for styling?

Preparing your hair will depend on your hair type and what style you are wanting. If you are wanting curls or waves I recommend washing your hair and blowdrying it the day before as this helps curls to last longer. If you want straight hair or a blowout coming with clean, dry hair will work best.
